Datacentre
Our services are based out of Spectrum House, conveniently situated in the Thames Silicon Valley (Maidenhead, Berkshire, UK) with great transport and network connections into London and the surrounding areas. We have our own private racks in the facility, with our own servers, pdu's, cabling and switching equipment. In summary, Spectrum House provides us with a reliable and secure environment to host our equipment, with N+1 redundancy on cooling, power and connectivity.
Network
We use the high quality RapidSwitch Network (AS29131). The RapidSwitch network is an all Cisco powered network, utilizing the BGP4 protocol to select the fastest possible route, and currently consists of over 98,000mbits of external connectivity.
The core of the network is based around the Cisco VS-1440 virtual switching system, consisting of two Cisco Catalyst 6500 series routers in a single chassis, in a redundant clustered configuration. Should a router fail, the other router will seamlessly pick up the load. In addition to the VS-1440 cluster, a tertiary Cisco Catalyst 6500 series router is maintained in the event of an issue with the cluster.
The BGP4 mesh currently consists of the following carriers, with diverse fibre entering the site at multiple points for increased resilience:
- Tiscali
- TeliaSonera
- Teleglobe
- LINX (London Internet Exchange)
- LoNAP
- In addition to more than 200+ peering sessions
We use Cisco Catalyst 3750's for our edge switching, distributing connectivity from the core to individual servers. Currently each edge switch has 1,000mbits of connectivity to the core, and we have the ability to increase this to a maximum of 4,000mbits per rack if required.

The RapidSwitch network terminates in London, Maidenhead, Nottingham, Leicester and Glasgow, providing direct routes to major locations across the UK. We are therefore able to offer one of the best performing, low latency networks in the UK, making our services ideal for latency orientated applications such as Game Servers and monitoring applications.
